School District of Crandon
The mission of the School District of Crandon is to inspire all members of the school community in a learner centered environment that cultivates positive character traits, fosters a personal commitment to academic excellence and celebrates diversity through the collaborative efforts of staff, parents and the community.
The School District of Crandon announces changes to the calendar effecting the months of November and December of 2014 and March of 2015.
On the original and published calendar November 5 is listed as a late start for students. The district is cancelling the late start, requiring all students and staff to work a full day. To compensate for that change on November 21 there will be no school for students. Staff will report from 7:30-11:30 for teacher professional development, PLC and RtI time.
In December, originally the calendar had December 3 as a late start for students. The district is cancelling the December 3 late start, requiring all student and staff to be in attendance a full day. To compensate for that change, on December 23, students will attend a half day (12:30 dismissal) and staff will have professional development from 12:30-3:30.
In March of 2015, the district had originally scheduled a late start for students on March 4th. The district is cancelling the late start, requiring all students and staff to be in attendance a full day. To compensate for this time on March 12th, the students will not attend and the staff will engage in professional development from in the morning and parent teacher conferences will be held from 1:00-7:00 PM
The other late starts in January, February and May will remain as scheduled.
The changes to the calendar are by order of the School District of Crandon Board of Education.
